Switch Inspection 1176 - Recertification

Course Aims

This course is intended to re-affirm the responsibilities of the certificate holder, review the updates to the relevant Transport for London Standards and re-assess the competence to undertake the duties required.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course the delegates will: -
• Be aware of all amendments and alterations to the Transport for London Standards.
• Re-affirm the competence to undertake the inspection of facing switches.

Pre Requisite Requirements

The following pre-requisites are required:
• Delegates attending MUST hold a valid 1176 certificate

• For any standard changes, it is the sponsor's responsibility to inform the delegate on any changes and for the delegate to be suitably prepared for the theory and practical assessments to take place against the new standard. A brief recap/overview will take place on the new standard before the assessments begin but will NOT involve any training on this.

PPE Requirements

This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line and therefore, they MUST be in possession of:-
• Valid P. T. S. Card
• Protective “all orange” High Visibility Clothing to BS EN 471:2003
• Safety Footwear to BS EN ISO 20345:2004
• Safety Helmet (white/blue) to BS EN 397:1995
• General Purpose Gloves to BS EN388:2121
• Safety Glasses BS EN 166 and of Optical Class 1 with Impact Resistance F

Certification

A Certificate of Competence will be awarded to the delegate upon successful completion of the course. Certification is valid for 3 years.
