Course Aims
This course is intended to provide a delegate with an understanding of the requirements and procedures for the Raising and Removal of Speed Restrictions for Level 1 (TR11), in accordance with the current Network Rail Standards, Track Work Instructions and Track Engineering Forms.

• Be re-appraised of the requirements for Raising and Removing Temporary Speed Restrictions for Level 1 duties
• Be aware of current standards and specifications relating to the raising and/or removal of speed restrictions
Pre Requisite Requirements
The following pre-requisites are required:
• Delegates should have in-depth knowledge and experience of the Permanent Way, and in particular Track Geometry.
Certification
A certificate of competence will be awarded for a period of 3 years on successful completion of the training course. The certificate will only be valid if supported by evidence of the following requirements.
The delegate is required to undertake a period of workplace experience under the support of a mentor. Mentored activity must be recorded in a log book. Following completion of the mentoring the delegate will need to be assessed against the requirements of the competence standard in NR/SP/CTM/011 Appendix B. The certificate will remain valid if supported by annual reviews by the employer to confirm 4 uses of the competence. After a period of 3 years the certificate will no longer be valid but the employer will confirm competence by reissue of a new TEF3026 form following a reassessment of competence as specified in NR/SP/CTM/011.
