Course Aims
This course is intended to provide delegates with an understanding of the key principles of Electrification Engineering within the railway infrastructure.

At the end of this course the delegates will: -
• Have an understanding of the history and development of the electrified railways from inception to the current day.
• Be aware of the types of electrification systems
• Have an understanding of the principles of electrical supply feeding
• Be aware of the need for isolation and bonding systems
• Have an understanding of the principle electrical and mechanical components and equipment types that make up the electrification systems
• Have an understanding of the relevant design criteria and the construction processes for both overhead line (AC) and third rail (DC)
• Have an understanding of the interfaces with other rail infrastructure disciplines as well as outside parties
Pre Requisite Requirements
There are no particular educational or competence pre-requisites required for this course.
PPE Requirements
Personal Protective Equipment is not required on this course
Certification
A Certificate of Training will be awarded to the delegate upon successful completion of the course. Certification has no expiry.
