Grinding Supervisory Manager - Recertification

Course Aims

This course is intended to re-affirm the responsibilities of the certificate holder, review updates to the relevant Network Rail Standards and re-assess the competence to undertake the duties of a Grinding Supervisory Manager.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course the delegates will: -
• Will be aware of all amendments and alterations to Network Rail Standards:
• NR/L2/TRK/001
• NR/L2/TRK/053
• NR/SP/TRK/1054
• NR/SP/TRK/0056
• Re-affirm the competence to undertake the duties of a Grinding Supervisory Manager

Pre Requisite Requirements

The following pre-requisites are required:
• Delegates attending MUST hold valid Grinding Supervisory Manager along with NR/L2/TRK/053 Switch Inspection, NR/L2/TRK/1054 Crossing Inspection and Grinding Operative

• For any standard changes, it is the sponsor's responsibility to inform the delegate on any changes and for the delegate to be suitably prepared for the theory and practical assessments to take place against the new standard. A brief recap/overview will take place on the new standard before the assessments begin but will NOT involve any training on this.

PPE Requirements

This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line and therefore, they MUST be in possession of:-
• Valid P.T.S. Card
• Protective “all orange” High Visibility Clothing to BS EN 471
• Safety Footwear to BS EN ISO 20345
• Safety Helmet (white/blue) to BS EN 397
• General Purpose Gloves to BS EN388
• Safety Glasses BS EN166 and of Optical Class 1 with Impact Resistance F

Certification

A Certificate of Competence will be awarded to the delegate upon successful completion of the course. Certification is valid for 3 years.
