Site Warden Recertification

Course Aims

This course is a recertification of the delegate’s skills and understanding to carry out the duties of a Site Warden.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course the delegates will: -
• To continue to demonstrate core Site Warden duties under an approved Safe System of Work
• To continue to demonstrate the Site Warden’s responsibilities in maintaining a Safe System of Work
• To continue to demonstrate the understanding of non-technical skills required for being a good Site Warden

Pre Requisite Requirements

Delegates must be in possession of:
1. Must hold a valid track safety sentinel card endorsed with PTS and SW and meet the requirements of NR/L2/CTM/021 Competence and Training in Track Safety
2. Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements
3. Meet the requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
4. Delegates cannot attend if their Sentinel card is endorsed that they must be accompanied
5. Delegates must provide a work experience work with at least four entries

PPE Requirements

This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line, therefore, they MUST be in possession of: -
• A Valid Sentinel Card
• Protective “all orange” high Visibility Clothing to BS EN 471
• Safety Footwear to BS EN ISO 20345
• Safety Helmet (white/blue) to BS EN 397
• General Purpose Gloves to BS EN388
• Safety Glasses BS. EN.166 and of Optical Class 1 with Impact Resistance F

Certification

No Certificate. This competency is valid for 2 years and will be recorded on the Sentinel database.
