Richard Bonney
CHAIRMAN
Richard, along with Lisa Stevenson founded the company in 2002. Richard has over 30 years of experience within the training environment. His principal role is to lead the strategic development of the Company with a focus on growth both in the UK and overseas.
Martyn Bentley
SENIOR PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Martyn’s expertise in both the practical and technical application of permanent way engineering skills ensures he is fully qualified to deliver training courses from Basic Principles of Track Engineering team Leader as well as Stressing of CWR Levels 1-2-3, Raising and Removing Speed Restrictions and Track Patrolling. Martyn is qualified as an Assessor enabling him to provide the relevant assessment requirements for competence based courses.
Lisa Stevenson
MANAGING DIRECTOR
As a founder member of the Company Lisa’s principle role is to direct and control the company’s operations and support the chairman in the strategic development of the company with a focus on growth in both the UK and overseas. As an extremely experienced manager with expertise in office management and marketing, Lisa’s skills ensure the Company will continue to flourish and remain a highly successful training organisation.
Sylvia Franklin
FINANCE AND COMPETENCE MANAGER
Sylvia joined the Company shortly after it was established in 2002.  In addition to delivering Assessor training, Sylvia is a member of the senior management team assisting the Managing Director with the Company finances.  Her many years experience within the rail industry ensures the company is proactive in compliance with client, industry and legislative requirements.  Her role involves Quality Assurance and leading on any audit visits.
Michelle Melnyk
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Michelle joined the company in 2013 and has become a key member of the administration team providing office support for the Company. Michelle is the Company’s Sentinel Co-ordinator responsible for the organisation of all Track Safety courses; dealing with our clients and delegates prior to, during and after the training events to ensure the level of service provided is of the highest quality.
Jordan Clarke
SALES AND OPERATIONS MANAGER
Since joining the Company in 2015, Jordan has been responsible for the Permanent Way course administration, providing support to both our clients and delegates. Jordan has recently been promoted to Sales and Operations Manager and is now responsible for the co-ordination and deployment of resources ensuring the needs of the business and clients are met on a daily basis.
Kelvin Tyler
SENIOR PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Kelvin’s formal training qualifications and expertise in the practical application in the use of hand held and mechanised plant provides a wide ranging training skills portfolio, which includes Grinding Operative, Grinding Supervisory Manager, Facing Switch Inspection and Crossing Inspection. Kelvin is also qualified as an Assessor enabling him to provide the relevant assessment requirements for competence based courses and workplace assessments. Kelvin is qualified to deliver training for Non-Destructive Testing of Rail.
Trevor Whitehead
PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Trevor has over 2 decades of Permanent Way experience with a specialism in rail welding and grinding. Trevor has over a decade of training, assessment and internal quality assurance experience within the rail sector. Trevor will be responsible for the delivery and assessment of rail grinding, detailed inspection of S&C, small plant competencies along with sentinel based safety critical competencies.
Paul Bartliff
PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Paul joined Neway in 2020 as a technical trainer and assessor. Paul has extensive experience in both safety critical and technical competence disciplines associated with Track Maintenance activities. Paul has great exposure to the planning and management of Railway maintenance and renewals activities. Paul is highly qualified with a Cert Ed and Lead IQA among some of his educational achievements.
Adam Thomson
PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Adam joined the company in 2020. He has already had a fantastic and varied 10-year career in Rail where he has been responsible for the design, planning and installation of just about every track formation utilised on today’s railways. Adam will become responsible for the delivery of our engineering programme ranging from Hallade, Surveying, Design and Installation of Permanent Way assets.
Scott Valentine
TRAINING AND COMPETENCE MANAGER
As a newer member of our team, Scott’s principal role is to ensure the compliance and governance of our training courses, including H&S, Legal, and Sentinel Scheme requirements. Scott will also assist in maintaining existing and new client relationships.   Scott is an experienced Permanent Way Engineer and Manager, having worked in Engineering for over 25 years. His engineering and analytical skills will ensure that Neway will fulfill its client responsibilities and continue to provide training excellence now and in the future.
Chantelle Strange
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Chantelle joined the company towards the end of 2020 and plays a key part in the administration team.  Providing office and administrative support for the Company, our clients, and our delegates and she ensures the highest quality service is provided at all times.
