Conductor Rail Permit & Overhead Line Permit Initial

Course Aims

This course is intended to provide a delegate with the skills and underpinning knowledge to carry out the duties of a COSS CRP & COSS OLP.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course the delegates will: -
• To understand and adhere to their responsibilities and the conditions of the Conductor Rail Permit
• To understand the main component parts of the DC system
• To understand risk assessment and isolation requirements
• To understand and adhere to test before touch procedures

Pre Requisite Requirements

The following pre-requisites are required for this course:-
1. Be a minimum age of 18
2. Must have successfully completed the COSS Initial training course
3. Must hold a valid track safety sentinel card endorsed with PTS DCCR and meet the requirements of NR/L2/CTM/021 Competence and Training in Track Safety
4. Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements
5. Must have a good level of literacy to meet entry qualifications
6. Meet the requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).

PPE Requirements

This course is classroom based and therefore no PPE is required.

Certification

No Certificate. This competency is valid for 2 years and will be recorded on the Sentinel database.
