Conductor Rail Permit & Overhead Line Permit Recertification

Course Aims

This course is intended to recertify a delegate’s skills and underpinning knowledge to carry out the duties of a COSS CRP & COSS OLP.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course the delegates will: -
• Continue to understand and adhere to their responsibilities and the conditions of the Conductor Rail Permit
• Continue to understand the main component parts of the DC system
• Continue to understand risk assessment and isolation requirements
• Continue to understand and adhere to test before touch procedures

Pre Requisite Requirements

The following pre-requisites are required for this course:-
1. Must hold a valid track safety sentinel card endorsed with COSS and meet the requirements of NR/L2/CTM/021 Competence and Training in Track Safety
2. Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements
3. Meet the requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).

PPE Requirements

This course is classroom based and therefore no PPE is required.

Certification

No Certificate. This competency is valid for 2 years and will be recorded on the Sentinel database. NOTE This competency will be recertificated at the same time as the COSS core.
