Course Aims
The course is intended to provide the delegate with the knowledge and skills required to be competent to safely operate the Robel 1349 Grinder.

At the end of this course the delegates will: -
Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the duties of a Robel 1349 Grinder.
Pre Requisite Requirements
The following pre-requisites are required:
• Prior experience in working within the Permanent Way Environment
• A basic knowledge of the track and its components
• Hold a valid certificate in the safe use of Abrasive Wheels in accordance with the PUWER Regulations (1998)
• Manual Handling
PPE Requirements
This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line and therefore, they MUST be in possession of:-
Valid P. T. S. Card
High Visibility Flame Retardant Coverall to EN531, EN470 and GO/RT3279
Safety Footwear to BS EN ISO 15090 H13 C1 AN-F2A-PPE 3aCAT
Safety Helmet (white/blue) to BS EN 397
Anti-Vibration Gloves
Ear protection to EN352
Safety Glasses BS EN 166 and of Optical Class 1 with Impact Resistance B
Dust Mask BS EN149 or M3 Air-fed Respirator Safety Mask
The protective equipment must comply with current safety standards.
Certification
A Certificate of Competence will be awarded to the delegate upon successful completion of the course. Certification is valid for 3 years subject to required mentorship.
