Course Aims
This course is intended to provide the delegate with the understanding and skill to undertake CAT Scanning in accordance with Network Rail Standard NR/L2/CTM/220.

At the end of this course the delegates will: -
• Have a clear understanding of the rules for safe operation of the equipment
• Be able to identify all of the main parts of the equipment
• Understand the operating modes of the equipment
• Be able to produce site plans and cable/pipe identification
• Have a clear understanding of the maintenance and care requirements
Pre Requisite Requirements
The following pre-requisites are required for this course:-
• Delegates MUST hold a Valid P. T. S. Card
• Safe use of Portable and Transportable Plant
PPE Requirements
This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line, therefore, they MUST be in possession of: -
• Valid P. T. S. Card
• Protective “all orange” High Visibility clothing to BS EN 471
• Safety Footwear to BS EN ISO 20345
• Safety Helmet (white/blue) to BS EN 397
• Ear Protection
• Safety Glasses BS EN 166 and of Optical Class 1 with Impact Resistance F
• General Purpose Gloves to BS EN388
• Overalls
The protective equipment must comply with current safety standards.
Certification
A Certificate of Training will be awarded to the delegate upon successful completion of the course. Certification is valid for 4 years. Annual Review required by employer.
