What is General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?
This course is designed to give you a basic understanding of the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25th May 2018, and was introduced into UK law through a revision to the Data Protection Act.
Despite the fact that the GDPR has been brought in from the European Union, it’s status and position in UK law is not affected by Brexit.
The course modules include:
- What the GDPR is
- Changes that will follow the introduction of GDPR
- How to protect personal data.
The course includes descriptions and definitions of what is meant by data protection and sensitive categories of data; how to ensure data is protected securely; and processes for dealing with data breaches and cyber-attacks.
