Why is health & safety important?
This course has been developed to provide a basic introduction to health and safety requirements as they apply in the Construction working environment.
The course focuses on the general legislative requirements that must be met and which apply to all organisations.
The course includes guidance on:
- Health and safety legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act etc.)
- Health and Safety in the workplace
- Risk assessments
- Common workplace hazards
- Dealing with accidents and emergencies
- Safe handling and storage of hazardous substances
- Workplace noise and stress
Construction workers must also abide by a number of specific regulations, policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of workers and site users. This course focuses on fundamental elements of health and safety such as risk assessments, safe handling and storage of hazardous substances and procedures for dealing with workplace accidents and emergencies.
